Ohio State's Tom Darrah Recognized as a Forbes Sustainability Leader for Groundbreaking Work in Clean Energy

Among the honorees is Professor Tom Darrah from the School of Earth Sciences at The Ohio State University, director of the Global Water Institute, and co-founder and chief technology officer of Koloma.

Darrah is a leading expert in geological hydrogen, a promising new source of clean energy. His research has attracted over $300 million in investments, including funding from Bill Gates's Breakthrough Energy Ventures, as Koloma begins testing and plans to extract naturally occurring hydrogen in the coming years commercially. This low-cost hydrogen could revolutionize industries such as fertilizer production and other industrial sectors. Darrah's inclusion on the Forbes list highlights his groundbreaking work in clean energy and his contributions toward addressing the climate crisis.
