The United Nations (UN) released the statement in recognition of International Mother Earth Day.
In the United States, the environmental movement catalyzed Earth Day in 1970. The UN General Assembly designated April 22 International Mother Earth Day in 2009. In any case the message is clear: this day is a call to action to restore harmony with nature and the Earth to restore our world.
