Global Water Initiative Elevated To Institute At Ohio State

As World Water Week comes to an end, The Ohio State University has renewed its commitment to sustainability with the creation of the Global Water Institute, a new innovation cell dedicated to sustainable systems solutions to complex water issues. The Institute designation was made official Thursday by a vote of the University Senate with President Michael Drake presiding.
Other water-related accomplishments this week include:
- Ohio State participation in the White House Water Summit
- Ohio State’s invitation to join the selective U.S. Water Partnership
- Announcement of a Fulbright Scholar award for a researcher supporting the WE3 Program in Tanzania
- Release of the first annual report of the Harmful Algal Bloom Research Initiative co-led by Ohio State
