Observed annually on March 22, World Water Day raises awareness and drives global action to tackle the water crisis, focusing on achieving Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030.

World Water Day highlights the critical importance of access to safe water as a fundamental human right. Despite its significance, 2.2 billion people live without safely managed drinking water services worldwide, leading to profound impacts on health, education, gender equity, livelihoods, and ecosystems.

A well-managed water cycle is essential to achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, particularly in addressing hunger, sustainability, and climate change adaptation. Water connects human society, the climate, and the environment, but poor water governance risks escalating water crises and competition across sectors.

This year's theme is Glacier Preservation!
